Sony Xperia S
Has a screen with amazing clarity and quite a high DPI , however the light reflection is above normal and Adreno 220 really struggles to cope with the 1280x720 resolution . The battery is slightly above average considering the increased screen resolution and the bumped-up CPU . The 32 GB's of internal memory are more than enough for any usage scenario . Perhaps the devices that reach the stores will have a better camera sensor , or at least i hope so , because the one in my prototype produces amazing levels of noise in low light .
Galaxy S II
I have the device for almost a year now ( a pre-release prototype with an 1GHz chipset...) and still find it hard to put it aside for a newer and probably better in some aspects device . The screen remains amazing in color reproduction , i never had any argument with it's saturation (although i never used the dynamic mode ) and only lacks in clarity given the low DPI and the "outdated" 800x480 resolution .
The 16 GB's of internal memory were always enough almost for everything and the camera could at least capture images worth uploading somewhere and even keeping them when shot under good lighting conditions .
The battery could have been better although i tend to use the hell out of my every day device in multimedia , voice , sms , networking , data etc .
Sony Xperia P
Nothing amazing here . A size more fitted for every day use compared to it's bigger brother and a screen that lacks the DPI but is better in any other aspect .
The color reproduction is excellent and the fourth sub-pixel used makes at least for a visible difference . The battery is of a strangely small capacity of only 1150mAh but can provide a whole day of normal operation . Will run dry by early evening though if you are hard on the devices features . The aluminum back plate adds to the nice feeling in your hand . Performance-wise the two A9 cores are clocked at "just" 1 GHz however the mali-400MP GPU of the Novathor SoC is extremely worst in performance than the same GPU found in Galaxy S II . A difference in no way justified by the increased resolution of 960x540 pixels .
As far as it's memory capacity goes it has 16 GB's of memory (less available as usually...) and lacks the memory card expansion option just like the Xperia S .
HTC One S
Now that was and still is a big surprise . The device is impressive in almost any way . (saving for the PenTile matrix of the Super AMOLED screen....)
It's blazing fast , the first device that can match the Galaxy S II in every day usage speed and outperform it in some cases .
It benchmarks really well , with amazing results in some tests . 197 MFLOPS in Linpack's Multithread test is a really good result for a device running on a stock ROM .
Really thin and light manages to make the Galaxy S II look bulky .
And of course after many years of quite bad cameras fitted to phones and even worst processing algorithms , the first phone from HTC with a camera worth using .
Still trying out the device so probably more comments will come up later .
LG Optimus 3D ( P920 )
Not even worth writing all the things that make everybody wonder why LG even bothered designing , creating and selling this device .
All the features mentioned on paper make a great job of hiding from real-life .
